Pat Kelly, Singer, Songwriter & Multi-Instrumentalist SOCAN/BMI
Pat Kelly has been playing music professionally since the age of 12 and has performed with the famous and should-be famous. He has even played for her majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
In the 90's Kelly spent his time doing voice work for radio, television and movies. He was the frontman for After Ours and The Sweet Vibe Orchestra. Kelly has produced albums/singles and garnered clandestine acclaim in the music industry as a prolific songwriter and collaborator.
Currently he spends much of his time writing, collaborating and performing music, as a solo acoustical performer, accompanied by Jeff Burke on Bassoon and as the frontman for his own full band. He is also embarking on some new musical projects and is in the studio recording some of Kelly's finest works.
Pat Kelly and Jeff Burke have been playing together and pleasing
audiences for many occassions over even more years.
You may have experienced their unique style of music and song as a blushing bride being sung down the aisle on her special day, as a guest at a special reception or an exclusive art exhibition, over dinner at a quaint lounge or just about anywhere that great music can be appreciated.
You will never experience a duo quite like Kelly-Burke!
In the words of Elvis Costello they are...
"A unique and amazing duo....just great!"

On a cold November night in 2009, art dealer Brian Liss (rep: Harry Benson, Billy Dee Williams, Ronnie Wood, JBall, Bob Gruen etc) held a charity event at his gallery which featured singer/songwriter Pat Kelly (The Star Combo, SVO, PK & The Core) performing for the invited guests. On this night, Brian shared a secret with his friend that he had held his whole life. Liss wrote a series of poetry; a Lisseries, if you will. Liss asked Kelly what he thought of his works and in moments, Kelly had taken the words to Front Row At Feist, put them to music and performed what was to be the first of a series of collaborations.
Weeks later, Liss and Kelly recorded 17 guitar and vocal tracks that became the foundation of what was to be Lisseries Volume 1: INTENTsely Distrurbed. Kelly & Lissbrought these tracks to producer/songwriter John Jamieson (Shania Twain, Peter BloomBand, PK & The Core) and in the following months Kelly and Jamieson wrote, rewroteand recorded music for tracks voiced by Brian Liss, Kelly, actor Billy Dee Williams (StarWars, Lady Sings The Blues, Brians Song), legendary singer Robert Gordon (Fire), musicpromoter Shaun Pilot, actor/speaker Tennessee Webb (Mark Twain In The 21st Century)and voice over actress Cyndi Richards (daughter of Billie Mae Richards: voice of Rudolph).
The 17 track spoken music album features the visual art of Johnathan Ball (aka JBall)and the tracks are as unique as a journey into the minds of us all.
Pk is a pleasure to work with, he is an absolute professional prior during and after any performance - his ability to connect with his audience is only exceeded by his high level of vocal and instrumental excellence . He is a great partner to collabrate with in the studio and he exudes dignity and good natured character at all times , if he has one fault it is that he undervalues himself but then that only adds to his charisma overall , his attention to detail in studio as a producer and composer is truly impressive and much appreciated .

"Can't get enough of the unique creativity of Patrick. His music takes you on a ride that compliments the lyrics. His lyrics are stories within stories. Some of his songs are so powerful, they should be deemed as Anthems."

MUSIC! Not Mischief (MnM) is a youth out-reach program of the Toronto Police Service in partnership with Carparelli Guitars. Pat Kelly joined the MnM team in 2009 as a volunteer guitar teacher. Pat and Toronto Police officers give kids-at-risk the gift of music, achievement and discipline in the hope that they will adopt those values as opposed to drugs, violence and a life of crime. In July 2010, Pat composed and rehearsed an original song to play with program youth on stage in Toronto as part of the International Youth Day festivities. Based on his inspiring commitment and contribution, I nominated Pat for a Civilian Citation, an award given to deserving members of the community. Pat is now the Senior Musical Consultant to MnM and continues to assist the program to grow in Toronto. For all of the things that Pat is as a musician, they are eclipsed by his generosity, genuinity and care for his community. (For more information on MUSIC! In regards to Kelly's songs,"...his words are vignettes, his voice and songs, with their many
changes, make it impossible for one to peg him, classify him, as though he is consciously refusing to sound like something we have all heard before. This concentrated talent is rare." -Garageband.com-
In less than 8 hours of song writing with Pat, we had collaborated on 4 songs. Pat's song writing abilities are exceptional, he is able to capture the essence of a song and bring lyrics to light in minutes. I am very much looking forward to working with Pat again in the near future. - Ali Stead -
